Chalk Drawings

Art student from Woodland Meadows are highlighting the way to summer break. Dynamic chalk drawings grace the sidewalks along the Woodland loops. With such perfect weather, the drawings will be around for as long as the children are in school. Thanks for making our school so colorful!

Duct Tape Art

Local artist Pete Warburton turns a sticky situation into an interesting representation. This morning I decided to finally stop in at the Biggby coffee shop and see Mr. Warburton's work after reading about it in the Ann Arbor newspaper a few weeks ago. Why is it so hard to just stop and look? It was worth it to stop and look this morning. With a hot cup of Michigan Cherry coffee in hand, I looked at several pieces that he created with a variety of techniques using duct tape. If you didn't know, duct tape is all the rage with students these days. Student jewelery, prom dresses, and cell phone accessories. Earlier this school year a student tried to sell me a cell phone holder constructed out of duct tape. Yes, I placed an order, but weeks later I was told that the family business never made it off the ground. Anyway, if you have the chance to visit the coffee shop between now and June 7th, I think that you will enjoy the show.
